Worldcook's RECIPES from UZBEKISTAN |
Uzbek cooking is a lot like Russian cooking: ravioli-like dishes like manti and pelmeni are popular. In Uzbekistan there is a large group of Koreans (Korean is even a sub-nationality) and as a result, Korean salads and cold cucumber soup are part of the menu. Lamb kebab is often served in food stalls and restaurants. We would call it "babusjka baranina" because it was mostly post-menopausal sheep, the same ingredient that figures in plov. | ||||||||
