Mix flour, baking soda,
cold butter, spices, sugar and yogurt and form a dough. Put the dough
in a large square oven dish. Bake 30 minutes at 200 degrees
Celsius. In the meantime, cut and
build a house from cardboard paper and use it as an example. Allow the
biscuit to cool down but not completely, it should still be soft. Cut
with the help of the cardboard 2 roof plates, 4 walls and a chimney.
From one of the walls, cut a door and window. Make a "glue" from powdered
sugar and water and glue the parts together. For decoration, glue the
M&M's to the house. Put some cotton in the chimney as smoke.
I was inspired by a very big cookie house which was
made by the cook of the Intercontinental Hotel
Tashkent and
on display every year at Christmas. The making of this house is very
time consuming. However it is simple and children will love it.
The Worldcook site has also a
page for Christmas cookies.
