Chocolate panna cotta

Pear cake

  • 2 CUPS CREAM
  • 4 LEAVES GELATIN, soaked
  • 4 TBSP SUGAR
  • 150 GRAM CHOCOLATE, chopped

  • 4 PEARS, peeled and cubed
  • 100 GRAM SELF RAISING FLOUR
  • 100 GRAM BUTTER, melted
  • 100 GRAM SUGAR
  • 1/2 CUP MILK
  • 2 TBSP BREADCRUMBS

Bring the cream to the boil with the sugar and simmer for 5 minutes. Dissolve the gelatin and the chocolate. Pour this mixture into glasses and refrigerate for 3 hours. Decorate with cream and/or chocolate.

Panna cotta in Italian means "cooked cream". You can make it plain and serve it with caramel sauce or fresh fruits (or without anything) or with yogurt and with coffee it is also delicious.

Mix the pear cubes with the flour, the butter, 75 gram sugar and the milk and pour this batter into a greased cake mold. Mix the breadcrumbs with the remaining sugar and sprinkle this on top. Bake the cake 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
