WORLDCOOK'S TRAVELS - NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK (Kenya)
Recipes from Kenya Travel to Kenya Travel to other countries
Whereas cities like Mombasa and Malindi already existed for centuries, Nairobi only started existing as the consequence of a railway depot for the Ugandan Railway (1896). The Nairobi National Park is on the borders of town. This is very strange, because you see the wildlife crossing the fields with houses on the horizon. The park is sometimes called "Nairobbery" for the very high prices, which foreigners have to pay. When we entered, we got all excited: "Look, a giraffe! Look, another giraffe". After 5 minutes we were already totally spoilt and sighed: "No, please, not another giraffe."
