Baked apples




Put all ingredients together in a greasedoven dish, covered with foil. Bake 40 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Take off the foil and bake 20 minutes more. Puree the mixture and serve hot or cold.

This dish is served for Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year); the apples are symbolic for a good and sweet New Year; honey is also a symbolic food item on this day. One wishes "shana tova", a good and sweet New Year. On Worldcook's New Year page you will find New Year recipes from all over the world.

Heat the cream and melt the chocolate in it. refrigerate for three hours. Whisk the mixture for approximately 5 minutes. Serve with meringue or in chocolate cups, like above.
