Mix the bread with
the butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix the remaining sugar
with 1/4 cup of hot water, orange peel and lemon juice to a syrup. Put
half of the apples on the bottom of a greased oven dish. Pour half of
the syrup on top and distribute half of the bread mixture over the apples.
Repeat the process. Bake the betty 20 minutes at 180 degrees
Celsius.
