Mix flour,
butter, sugar, yeast, eggs and 4 deciliter water to a batter. Let the volume
increase for 1 hour. Put three tablespoons of batter in a waffle maker and
bake until golden brown. Dust with icing sugar.
Waffles from
Luik are a little different from
those, served in Brussels. In Luik they are heavier and sweeter, and
served without icing sugar. The shape is diamond or oval. In
Brussels originally the waffles were rectangular with deep holes and
served with icing sugar.
