Nettle toast


Herring-potato snack

  • 1/2 ONION, chopped
  • 3 EGGS
  • 1/2 CUP MILK
  • 100 GRAM CHEESE, grated

Whisk the eggs with the milk and soak the bread slices in this mixture. Stir fry the onions with the nettle tops for three minutes. Fry the soaked bread slices on one side in hot oil, turn them around; distribute the nettle mixture over the bread slices, followed by the cheese. Put a lid on the pan and simmer for approximately 3 minutes.

Cook the potatoes for 20 minutes and slice them thinly. Arrange them on a plate, spread a little mustard on each slice and sprinkle with salt and fresh milled pepper. Cut the herring in pieces. Put first the herring and then the onion slices on top.
