  • 500 GRAM FLOUR
  • 4 TBSP SEMOLINA

Mix all the ingredients well and pour this into a greased square or rectangular bread pan. Bake an hour at 160 degrees Celsius.

The 19th of March is Día de San José or Saint Joseph's day in Colombia. Joseph, the father of Jesus, celebrates his day always in the Lent period, which means abstinence - but we stick to celebration only. Click on culinary calendar for more links between cooking and history.
Mix all ingredients with 1 1/2 cup water and knead for 10 minutes; allow the dough to rise for 1 1/2 hour. Shape the dough into a bread and make 4 diagonal slashes across the top; let it rise another hour. Sprinkle the bread lightly with water and bake it 35 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. Sprinkle again with some water after 15 and 10 minutes.
