Chocolate cherry dessert

 

Pithiviers

 

Add the liqueur to the cherries and marinate them for 2 hours. Melt the chocolate with the cream in the microwave; add the cacao powder and whisk for a minute or so. Add the cherries and liqueur, stir well. Pour the mixture into a rectangular mold and refrigerate for 43 hours. Cut in slices before serving.

Split one of the eggs. Mix the almond paste with an egg yolk, the orange liqueur and orange rind. Roll out the puff pastry and cut 8 circles with a diameter of 12 centimeter. Distribute the almond paste mixture over 4 circles and close them with the other 4. Cut decorations with a sharp knife (see picture). Beat the remaining egg with a fork and brush it on top of the pithiviers. Bake them minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.
