Apple pie

 

Hazelnut pie

  • 250 GRAM SELF RAISING FLOUR
  • 125 GRAM BUTTER
  • 125 GRAM SUGAR
  • 1 KG APPLES, cleaned and cut in pieces
  • 75 GRAM RAISINS
  • 1 TBSP CUSTARD POWDER
  • 150 GRAM ALMOND PASTE
  • RIND OF 1/2 LEMON, grated
  • 1/2 TSP CINNAMON
  • 5 TBSP JAM
 
  • 150 GRAM FLOUR
  • 150 GRAM SUGAR
  • 125 GRAM BUTTER
  • 150 GRAM HAZELNUTS
  • 1 EGG
  • GRATED RIND FROM 1/2ORANGE
  • 3 TBSP JAM
  • 1/2 TSP CINNAMON

Mix the flour with the butter and sugar and knead to a dough. Roll it out and line a greased pie form with it. Roll out the almond paste to a circle as big as the pie and put it on the dough. Mix the apples with the raisins, the custard powder, the lemon rind and the cinnamon and and put this inside the pie. Bake the pie 40 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius, increase the temperature to 200 degrees and bake 10 minutes more. Heat the jam en brush the top of the pie with it.

Grind the hazelnuts in a food processor. Add all ingredients except the jam and mix well. Put this dough into a greased pie mould. Heat the jam a little and distribute it on top of the pie. Bake the pie 25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius in the oven.
