Hot chocolate cake

Orange fool

  • 175 GRAM SELF RAISING FLOUR
  • 150 GRAM SUGAR
  • 150 GRAM BUTTER, soft
  • 5 EGGS
  • 150 GRAM WHITE CHOCOLATE, chopped
  • 1/2 CUP CREAM
  • 100 GRAM MILK
  • 4 TBSP CACAO

Put flour, butter, sugar, eggs, cacao and 50 gram milk together and beat 5 minutes with an electric mixer. Stir in half of the chocolate and pour the batter in a cake tin. Bake the cake 35 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. In the meantime, heat the remaining milk with the cream and dissolve the rest of the chocolate in it. Pour this sauce on plates, slice the - still hot - cake and put a slice on the sauce.

Beat the orange juice and rind into the cream. Divide the cake cubes over three glasses and drizzle the liqueur on top. Spoon the orange cream mixture carefully on the cake and put this in the fridge for 3 hours. Decorate with orange peel.

Serve orange fool on the 1st of April, "April fool" or "fool's day" together with a practical joke. Click on culinary calendar for more links between cooking and celebration.
